Global Emergency Medicine Helps Students

June 3, 2011

A small group headed by Dr. Ian Martin from Global Emergency Medicine joined AMS for a few days. Dr. Martin has brought a group every March for several years now. Even though it was just a few days, the group did good work and kept busy. The first day they headed over to Engos Clinic, where they helped patients. They also visited the Oloosinon Primary School and de-wormed two classes. The following two days they held mobile clinics, seeing about 200 patients total.

As we look back over the last two months, we are thankful for each one of the volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to come and serve the Maasai people. It's not all about what we get done - but the friends we make. The people of Engos, Kawai and the surrounding villages whose lives were touched by a smile, a caring touch, a gift of clothes or help with a medical need will remember the volunteers who came for a long time.
