Welcome to the AMS Dental Clinic, where we are dedicated to improving dental health for the rural Maasai community.
Full-Time Operations
We are thrilled to announce that AMS Dental Clinic is now operating full-time, providing essential dental care to those in need. Dr. Emmanuel, who graduated with a diploma in Oral Health from Mt. Kenya University in December 2023, officially opened the clinic full-time in February 2024. Equipped with an electric dental chair, suction, dental x-ray, instruments, and consumable supplies, the clinic is committed to offering comprehensive care to our patients.
Volunteer Opportunities
The need for dental care in our community remains significant, and we invite volunteer dentists to join us in making a difference. In addition to seeing patients at the AMS Dental Clinic, volunteers have portable dental units at their disposal, which can be taken to rural villages. This enables us to reach those with limited access to dental services, bringing care directly to those who need it most.
Transforming Dental Care
Historically, rural dental care has often focused on extractions with inadequate pain management. The AMS Dental Clinic aims to transform this experience by incorporating pain control and restorative dental work into our services.

Exciting progress is happening at the AMS Outpatient Department
This project is a major addition and full remodel, designed to expand access to essential care for our community. Once complete, the Outpatient Department will include:
• Eye Clinic
• Dental Clinic
• Urgent Care
• Emergency Room
• HIV Counseling & Testing Clinic
This week on site:
• Exterior plastering is underway
• Varnishing has begun on the T&G ceilings
• Electrical wiring has been pulled
• Floors are being prepared for terrazzo pouring

Through your generosity, we are able to provide 24-hour care, including maternity services, first aid and emergency care, ambulance transfers, outpatient and dental services, and specialty clinics such as cataract care and dermatologic surgery.
We’re excited to step into 2026 as we complete our Outpatient Department renovation and expansion—and begin offering new services full time!

AMS Outpatient Department- Progress Update!!
This past week the crew has been hard at work putting on the roof and plastering the walls. So exciting to see project taking shape - slowly cleaning up!
This center will hold an urgent care, emergency/first aid room, dental and eye clinic and HIV clinic. Thank you all who have given this far to make this a reality!!
Pushing for June 2026 opening. We are still fundraising but know we will get to our goal with all of you! Still looking to raise approximately $80,000.

This past we a team of over 30 lead by Richard H. joined the AMS team to work in the community. The team painted the middle school, put in doors and window panes, painted desk and chairs, built the wood desk seats and boxes, gave dental care, assisted with a vaccination campaign and held a children’s program at the local church. Thank you all for giving of your time and resources to help us serve this community!

This year, I’m running 50 kilometers as part of our 200 km challenge to raise funds for the AMS Outpatient Center Renovation & Expansion Project!

Outpatient Department - Construction Update! 🔨
The AMS Construction Team has been hard at work — building walls, pouring beams, taking down old walls, and breaking out floors where needed. It’s all coming together, and soon the rough stage will be over and things will start to clean up!
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far — we’ve raised $118,000 USD toward the goal of ~$220,000.

Big changes are happening at the AMS Outpatient Department!
Last week, GCA teamed up with our local AMS crew to begin demolition on the original building, constructed back in 2006. Years of wear—and more than a few bats —made it time for a major upgrade.
The roof is off, and we’re preparing for a large front addition that will include Urgent Care, Emergency Room, HIV, Eye, and Dental Clinics!
Thanks to your generous support, we’ve already raised $105,000 toward our goal. We still need $150,000+ to complete and furnish the project.
