AMS Outpatient Center Update 🔨
The local construction and clinic team are pushing to finish up and move into the new center! The reception is being built, punch list worked on, water and septic systems, and cleaning… End of this week we will move into the eye clinic and dental lab and next week we will start moving into the dental store room. We hope to open within the next month.
Thank you to all who have given to make this project possible - from finances to time and effort! We could not do it without you!

Over the past month, we’ve been making exciting progress as we prepare to move into the new AMS Outpatient Center!
With the help of our volunteer teams, we’ve installed stainless steel cabinetry, moved the medication storeroom into the new facility, installed the surgical light, and completed many finishing projects throughout the building. We’re also working hard to finish the indoor plumbing, water filtration system, reception area, and storage rooms as we get closer to opening.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has volunteered their time, skills, and hard work, as well as those who have supported this project through prayer and financial giving. This new facility will allow us to provide even better care to the community for years to come.
We can’t wait to open the doors and begin serving patients in this new space!

Thank you to Darla and her volunteer team for spending the week serving with Africa Mission Services! As an AMS Board member, Darla has brought teams to Kenya several times over the years, and we appreciate her continued support.
This week, the team provided care through our mobile medical clinics, helped with finishing projects at our new Outpatient Center, cleaned and painted windows at the clinic, and assisted at our Women’s Health Center. Their willingness to help wherever needed made a big difference.

A big thank you to the LLU volunteer team, led by Shawn, for another wonderful week of serving with Africa Mission Services! Shawn has faithfully returned to the Maasai Mara for more than a decade, and we are so grateful for her leadership and continued partnership.
This week, the team led our Days for Girls program, met with boys to discuss respect, healthy choices, and the challenges of adolescence, and provided medical care through bush clinics in remote communities. They also helped paint classrooms at Oloosinon Primary School and assisted with painting and finishing projects at our new Outpatient Center.

A huge thank you to the incredible UREACH team, led by Linda, for another week of dedicated service with Africa Mission Services! We are so grateful for your continued partnership and for returning year after year to serve alongside us.
This week, the team helped build water tank platforms for the rainwater catchment system at our new Outpatient Center, landscaped the flower beds, completed sanding and varnishing, installed curtain rods, and tackled countless finishing projects to help prepare the facility for opening.
They also had a team painting classrooms at Oloosinon Primary School, giving them a fresh coat of paint and creating a brighter learning environment for the students.
In addition, they served in our mobile medical clinics, while the optometry team provided hundreds of vision screenings and distributed prescription reading glasses, helping improve the daily lives of so many community members.
Thank you, UREACH, for your servant hearts, hard work, and commitment to making a lasting impact in the Maasai Mara. We couldn’t do it without you!

This week, we welcomed two teams from the Loma Linda area—LLU and UREACH—to serve alongside us in the Maasai Mara.
Today, part of the team was out on a mobile medical clinic providing general medical care, dental services, and optical care to community members who otherwise have limited access to healthcare. It was a busy day, with many patients receiving the care they needed.

This week, the Fletcher team joined AMS medical and dental staff in providing mobile clinics to villages across the region.
For communities with limited access to healthcare, these outreach clinics bring medical and dental services closer to home, ensuring more people can receive the care they need.

Throughout the week, members of the Fletcher team distributed Ripple Effect water filtration buckets to families in our community.
Access to safe drinking water is one of the most effective ways to prevent waterborne illness and improve household health. These simple filtration systems provide families with a sustainable way to produce clean water using locally available sources.
We are grateful to everyone who spent long days traveling, meeting with families, and helping expand access to safe water. Small interventions can have a lasting impact on health, education, and quality of life.

This week, the Fletcher SDA Church team joined AMS staff in working on the renovation and expansion of our new Outpatient Department.
We’re excited to celebrate the project’s blessing ceremony this weekend and look forward to opening the facility in mid-July. The expanded facility will allow us to grow services, including a dedicated eye clinic, expanded dental services, and an urgent care clinic with a first aid and treatment room.

This week, a team from Fletcher SDA Church joined the AMS team in a variety of community development and healthcare initiatives.
Projects included:
• Construction projects - finishing touches on the outpatient center
• Mobile medical clinics
• Dental clinics
• Cataract surgeries in partnership with the County Eye Team
• Mental health education classes at Kensington
The photos featured here are from this week’s cataract clinic, where patients received sight-restoring surgery that can significantly improve quality of life, independence, and economic participation.
We are grateful to the Fletcher team, the County Eye Team, and AMS staff for their collaboration and commitment to expanding access to healthcare and community services. Through partnership and service, we continue working toward healthier and stronger communities.

We’re getting closer!
Cleanup has begun, the first coat of finish paint is on, T&G ceilings are complete, and the window panes are almost all in—bringing our new Outpatient Center to life step by step.
We’re hopeful to open mid-year and begin serving even more patients in this new space.
