The Miracle of Twins

A woman came into clinic this week with a big smile belly and strong labor pains, but she went home laughing and smiling with two beautiful baby girls. This week there has already been five births at the clinic. The woman who had twins had received no pre- natal care and so even the doctor was surprised when after delivering the placenta a little foot came out. Thankfully the footling breach delivery went very well and both twins are now healthy. This week the staff at the clinic are preparing to start group prenatal classes for this community. They are preparing education topics like prenatal nutrition, risk factors, breastfeeding, HIV, and family planning. They will begin the classes with pregnant mothers starting in March. Home visits also continue where a social worker or HIV counselor visits at risk mothers or babies. Below is an at risk youth talking to Eva a social worker.
