Maternity Ward at Engos Clinic

Completed: July 2010 They said it couldn’t be done. No Maasai woman would come to the clinic to have a baby under the care of a male doctor. It wouldn’t happen! But one by one, women started walking to the clinic when it was time for their babies to be born. Now we have about a dozen babies born in the maternity ward every month. This includes some high-risk breech births and the beautiful triplets in the photo. No one was more surprised about this than their proud parents.
