AMS Outpatient Department- Progress Update!!
This past week the crew has been hard at work putting on the roof and plastering the walls. So exciting to see project taking shape - slowly cleaning up!
This center will hold an urgent care, emergency/first aid room, dental and eye clinic and HIV clinic. Thank you all who have given this far to make this a reality!!
Pushing for June 2026 opening. We are still fundraising but know we will get to our goal with all of you! Still looking to raise approximately $80,000.
Thank you for helping us support this community!

This past we a team of over 30 lead by Richard H. joined the AMS team to work in the community. The team painted the middle school, put in doors and window panes, painted desk and chairs, built the wood desk seats and boxes, gave dental care, assisted with a vaccination campaign and held a children’s program at the local church. Thank you all for giving of your time and resources to help us serve this community!

Special thanks to the whole team who made this past week of Cataract Surgery a success! 49 surgeries completed! We could not have done it without those who put in their time screening and registering patients, the student missionaries, the pre-op team, anesthesiologists Dr. Spitellie and our surgeons Dr. Markoff and Dr. Cheriyot and surgical nurses! Thank you all! Prayers for quick healing and clear vision for all our patients!

This year, I’m running 50 kilometers as part of our 200 km challenge to raise funds for the AMS Outpatient Center Renovation & Expansion Project!
We’re asking for $50 per kilometer to help transform our clinic into a safer, modern facility – complete with the first emergency room in our region, plus new spaces for dental care, urgent care, and HIV counseling.
Every step I take is for a healthier, stronger community.
If you’d like to support, you can sponsor a kilometer or donate any amount toward this important cause. Together, we can make this vision a reality!

Outpatient Department - Construction Update! 🔨
The AMS Construction Team has been hard at work — building walls, pouring beams, taking down old walls, and breaking out floors where needed. It’s all coming together, and soon the rough stage will be over and things will start to clean up!
A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed so far — we’ve raised $118,000 USD toward the goal of ~$220,000.
If you’d like to help us reach the finish line and make the new Dental and Eye Clinics a reality, visit our website to donate (link in bio).

In July, the AMS Health Center had two volunteers join the team for a few weeks. Here is a word from them…
Hi! We are Henrietta and Izzy, final year medical students from the UK. We wanted to come out to Kenya to experience healthcare in a different country to our own, and so decided to come to the Masai Mara and volunteer at the AMS women’s health centre. We had a fantastic three weeks of assisting with births, helping in the antenatal clinics and seeing how the staff manage emergencies. We also had the opportunity to go and visit local schools to help with vaccination programmes and teaching. By the end of it, we really felt like we were part of the community and had made lifelong friends. During our placement, we were staying in a flat above the centre, where we cooked our meals and relaxed in the evenings. On weekends, we were fortunate enough to have the opportunity to go on safari and see the Masai Mara. The entire experience was an absolute dream. we learnt so much and had so much fun. We are already planning our next trip.

And the work continues…
The exterior walls of the new Outpatient Department are up, and this week we had an amazing team from California and Israel helping build the interior walls. Grateful for every hand, heart, and hour that’s gone into making this space a reality!
